The Museum is a registered educational charity (Number 515105)
The Fire & Police Museum at Sheffield is the
Trading name for Charity "the South Yorkshire Fire Service
Historical Society".
The Museum was opened in 1983 as the South
Yorkshire Fire Service Museum and a few years later changed to
the Fire & Police Museum due to the development of the Police
side of the museum.
The Fire & Police Museum is a self funding
volunteer run museum and relays entirely on donations and money
from additions to keep alive.
Charity Events
Dare you take part in Charity Fundraising events
like "Night in the Cells" ? "Night in the Cells" was a
fundraising event in t2009 where local company's tuck a ghost
tour around the museum in the dead of the night then go to bed
in one of the original 1900's Police cells.
There's loads of different types of fundraising
activates that you and your friends or you and your work can
take part in to raise much needed cash for the museum and the
projects we do and still have a fantastic time your self!
